Dearest Global Community:
I'm completely demoralized and devastated by this
conservative right-wing fascist agenda. I feel so
humiliated in the eyes of the rest of the world. Now that
the Republicans carry the House and Presidency, and now
that our nation firmly believes that Bush is doing God's
work, and now that women's rights to abortion are almost
completely eroded, and now that a misdemeanor (a small
petty crime) will land someone in prison for 25-to-life,
and now that the Patriot Act has stolen our constitutional
rights for freedom of speech, freedom of privacy, and the
right to civil disobedience, (and the list goes on),
perhaps our only last vestige of hope is that Bush will
finally institute a nationwide draft for his continued war
efforts in Iraq.
Maybe then, when body bags pile up years later on
everyone's conscience will people put down their
cappucinos, pull out their peace signs, get involved in
local politics, rejuvenate global activism, and start
making a difference in this world.
Thanks for letting me vent. I'll just go back to teaching
Radical Love Workshops and spreading a militant,
anti-patriarchal message for people to Love More, Love
More, Love More. At a time when our nation and our election
results are breeding fascism, what better time to be
talking about radical love and smashing patriarchy. What
else can I do...
